I would take the handdrawn, the people relate more easily to something more rough I think, but hey, that's just my opinion ;)

I like the look of the hand drawn one personally. Especially when the orange meets the white, I like the fact that its not smooth, but I'm weird, so.....

Maybe I should make a hybrid between the two logos. Smooth but not to much, ruff but not to much.

I would go with illustrator because I like the smoother lines, but I suggest making the end of the tail slightly pointier like in the hand drawn version. =)

The hand drawn piece is in vector, so size don't matter.
